Stockholm-based iGaming platform provider Cubeia plans to transition all new software features to AI-generated code by August. The initiative follows internal data showing mid-level developers significantly increasing output through artificial intelligence tools.
COO Stefan Grenstad identified the performance shift while reviewing Jira project logs for annual assessments. Mid-level engineers were delivering approximately 60% of development results, surpassing senior staff. Grenstad stated that expanding AI access alone was insufficient and positioned the transition as a competitive necessity.
Tripling development output through automated coding is required to maintain market position against other suppliers adopting similar efficiency measures.
Implementation and Workflow Changes
The transition covers both back-end and front-end development. CPO Fredrik Ernander confirmed Claude as the primary large language model, with additional testing of UX Pilot AI and v0.dev for interface prototyping. Ernander noted that generating prototypes directly allows faster iteration cycles compared to assigning design drafts to dedicated front-end developers. The company emphasized that the initiative focuses on process optimization rather than workforce reduction.Management aims to restructure the existing agile framework, which has relied on two-week sprints for two decades. The new AI-integrated pipeline is designed to replace the legacy sprint system with a more continuous development cycle. Other industry operators, including Playtech, are currently utilizing artificial intelligence for marketing automation and legacy content adaptation, while Cubeia applies the technology directly to core software engineering.
