Evoke Reports Stable H1 2026 Revenue Amid Rising Gaming Duties

Evoke released interim financial results for the first half of 2026 on August 12. The betting and gaming company reported stable group revenue despite a decline in adjusted EBITDA.

Group revenue reached £887.5m, matching the prior-year figure of £887.8m. On a like-for-like basis, excluding the impact of approximately 270 fewer retail shops, revenue increased by two percent. Adjusted EBITDA fell ten percent year-on-year to £150.2m.

The company attributed this decline to a £46m increase in gaming duties, primarily affecting the UK market.

Online Growth and Strategic Developments

UK and Ireland online revenue grew by four percent, with the gaming segment rising seven percent driven by William Hill. CEO Per Widerström highlighted that operational improvements allowed the company to maintain momentum despite higher duty costs. He emphasized the focus on serving customers and disciplined execution until the acquisition completes.

In June, the board announced a recommended acquisition of Evoke by Bally's Intralot. The directors concluded the transaction offers the most attractive outcome for shareholders. Additionally, Evoke established a new partnership with Gaming Corps in July.
